Receiving Specialist
Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments by verifying identifying information, quantities, weights, and measurements against bills of lading, purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation.
- Identify, document, and reject damaged items; record shortages and coordinate with the appropriate Account Coordinator/ Web Specialist to resolve discrepancies.
- Accurately receive incoming shipments into Vera core, PSI, & File Makersystems; generate and affix warehouse labels and placards as required.
- Assign received materials to optimal warehouse locations to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
- Route materials to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory of receiving supplies and materials.
- Identify & document returned orders to appliable account coordinator/ web specialist.
- Assist with inventory moves/transfers to consolidate inventory.
- Operate and maintain forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment to move shipments from receiving to storage or work areas.
- Ensure receiving areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Assist with receiving raw materials and finished goods, including warehousing and the handling
of salvage and waste products.
Education & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or vocational training preferred.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing/assembly environment preferred.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems and data collection tools.

- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for inventory control and quality assurance.
- Ability to take initiative, adapt to changing priorities, and respond quickly to operational needs.
- Ability to consistently meet data collection and documentation requirements as defined by quality standards and management.
