LCP WINS “BEST OF SHOW” FOR THE 2019-2020 MOHAWK SHOW AWARDS

LCP is pleased to announce Wilco’s box set for their album, “Ode to Joy,” designed by Lawrence Azerrad, has won the “Best of Show “ at The Mohawk Show. This annual design competition celebrates brilliant design, intelligent paper selection, and superior production.

Wilco’s box set began with a vision by Wilco singer and guitarist Jeff Tweedy. Designer Lawrence Azerrad had designed seven other Wilco album covers in the past. Tweedy and Azerrad collaborated to create an interactive pop-up book with imagery that brought novel and tactile ways to connect to the lyrics and album.

The Wilco box set competed with hundreds of entries from around the world. All were evaluated on six different dimensions: object quality, material quality, paper as the 5th color, pairing paper texture to reinforce design, beauty, and the combination of paper and process.

Tom Johnson, LCP’s President, said, “It was an honor to be chosen to produce this project for the legendary band, Wilco, and to bring Jeff Tweedy’s and Lawrence Azerrad’s collaborative vision to life. Producing the project required elite project management and engineering skills as well as printing craftsmanship. To be recognized as  Mohawk’s “Best of Show” winner is truly a source of pride for LCP’s entire team.”
