The 2016 Calendar is better than ever. Each month features different print and finishing techniques and really the boundaries of print. As many of you know the LCP Calendar features a hidden logo game. This news story will evolve throughout the year and the logo location for each month will be revealed at the beginning of the following month.
JANUARY 2016 -
Print information - Printed on 80 lb. Endurance Silk Gloss Cover this conventionally printed offset month was printed in two passes. The first pass was an overall stamp-able aqueous pearl coating. The sheet was then printed on one of our 6 color Heidelberg XL105 presses with traditional 4 color CMYK, spot dull varnish on the calendar grid and overall gloss aqueous. The result is an iridescent look fitting for the frozen waterfall.
The LCP logo is on the right hand side hovering on the snow ledge on the near side of the crevasse.
FEBRUARY 2016 -
Print information - Printed on 80 lb. Mohawk Superfine Cover - Ultra White Eggshell. Again this was printed in two passes. The first pass was a spot UV silver foil coating. The sheet was then printed on one of our 8 color Heidelberg UV-102 press with UV CMYK plus a PMS Gray. This combination of a black/gray duotone with 4 color process increases color stability throughout the run when gray backgrounds are mixed with process colors. The sheet was then sculptured embossed adding dimension and a feeling of really being there waiting for springtime!
The LCP logo is split among 3 leaves of the plant.
MARCH 2016 -
Print information - Printed on 80 lb. Mohawk Options Cover - Crystal White Vellum. The sheet was then printed on one of our 8 color Heidelberg UV-102 press with UV CMYK and then enhanced through the use of an intricate sculptured emboss. Utilizing UV on uncoated allows for superior saturation of colors almost to the vividness of a coated sheet. Mohawks Inkwell Sheets also create a harder surface which when combined with UV printing creates what for some is only fantasy. Don’t be a mushroom and grow your brand in the dark! Let LCP shine our light on your next project.
The LCP logo can be found on the under side of the front-most Mushroom.
APRIL 2016 -
Print information - Printed on 80 lb. Mohawk Strathmore Grande - Ultimate White. The sheet was printed on one of our 8 color Heidelberg UV-102 press with UV CMYK Kaleido Inks. Kaleido is an extended gamut 4 color ink set that increases the printable spectrum of standard 4-color process. Starting with RGB imagery, LCP can separate your files to increase the color range especially in Greens, Violets and Magentas. The increase in color gamut is produced without the addition of extra plates which ultimately saves cost.
The LCP logo is slightly ghosted in the top leaf just to the left of the thumb notch.
Here is a color diagram that shows the increased Gamut you can acheive using the Kaleido process. The red area is the Kaleido color space as compared to standard 4 color process.
